Xumii allows you to stay connected with all your friends right on your phone. See the latest status from your friends and find out what is going on in the news. Chat with your friends on AIM, Yahoo!, MSN Live or GoogleTalk. If you want to invite a few friends to join a private chat you can create your own group. Everyone gets a mobile Wall where you and your friends can post messages, photos and gifts.

It means we are still building our product and are looking for feedback from those of you who like to test things before anyone else. There are likely going to be some short term limitations and issues but you can be the first on the block with the newest social mobile application entering the market.

Xumii is free to join and use. To keep you up-to-date Xumii connects to the Internet so standard phone network charges will apply when using the Internet on your phone.

Our goal is to make Xumii free and available to anyone with a feature or smartphone data plan. We are working hard to continue to add new phones so if you don't see your phone check back again soon. We just added support for some Windows Mobile phones and are starting to test Xumii on some Blackberry handsets.

You can just download Xumii to your new phone and use your same account number. Your account number is not tied to a specific phone.

Downloading Xumii
One way is to sign in to your Account page, where you will find a button at the top that allows you to send yourself a SMS message that has the link to download Xumii. Another way is to just open your mobile browser and go to
/get
This will open a WAP page and all you need to do is select "Download Now". Its that simple.

Open the message containing the download link from Xumii. Depending on your phone, you may need to scroll down to highlight the link and choose 'Select', 'Go to' or 'Open'. Once you have done this your phone will make an Internet connection and start the download.

During the download process certain operators may ask you if want to trust the Xumii application. Answer yes to these questions and the download process will continue smoothly.

You can always just open your mobile browser and type in the URL . You will get a Xumii page with a link to download our application.

This depends on the type of connection you have. If you are on one of the newer 3G networks it should take less than 10 seconds. If you on a 2 or 2.5G network it may take up to 30 seconds. Just be patient, it's worth the wait.

Features
For Instant Messaging (IM) we currently support AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), Yahoo! Messenger, Microsoft Live and GoogleTalk.
For Facebook we allow you to update and receive status messages from all your friends as well as display and upload photos.
For Flickr we allow you to display and upload pictures right on your phone.
For imeem and MySpace we allow you to connect with your friends as access and share your photos.

Find out what is going, 24x7 right on your phone. We have a place where we you can stay connected to all your friends on Facebook, MySpace, imeem and IM, get the latest gossip news and see if anyone has left you a message since the last time you logged in.

Just go to "Find Friends" and click on your friends name. A menu will appear and if they are not already a Xumii user there will be an option to invite them. If you invite them they will get an IM or SMS message with a link to the http://www.xumii.com website.

If you have an AT&T or Sprint mobile phone, many of them are configured so that 3rd party applications like Xumii cannot get access to the photos on your phone. Another possible reason is that you have your photos stored on the memory card, Xumii only accesses photos stored directly in the phone's memory.

There is no limit on upload size of a photo. Please note that your upload speed depends on your data plan network speed.
